A Casagrande Standpipe Piezometer along with water level meter is used to measure water level and artesian heads in embankments and foundations and reservoir, uplift pressure in hill side highways and underground works.
The Casagrande Standpipe Piezometer of PMT consists of a porous tip, attached to a riser pipe. The Porous tip is isolated in the zone of interest, usually with an overlying bentonite seal. Water is free to flow through the porous tip stabilizes in the riser pipe at the piezometric elevation. This elevation of the water level in the riser is measured using water level meter.
