Tilt Meter is used to monitor inclination and vertical rotation in structures such as dams, old monuments, high rise buildings, retaining walls and slopes etc. Tiltmeter data can provide an accurate history of movement of a structure and early warning of potential structural damage.
1901V-IM-TM, the VW Tilt Meter of PMT is designed for attachment to the structure to be monitored by means of an adjustable bracket and expandable anchor to make measurements on horizontal or vertical surfaces. The sensor comprises of a pendulous mass supported by vibrating wire transducer and the elastic hinge. The sensor measures changes in force caused by the relation of the centre of gravity of mass. As the tilt increases or decreases the mass attempts to rotate beneath the hinge point and the tension in the vibrating wire changes thus converting into an electrical signal which is transmitted to the readout unit.
