Project Summary:
Integrated Kashang Hydro Electric Project proposed by HPPCL is a new run-of-the river 195 MW (3 units of 65MW) Hydro Electric Power Project. The Purpose of the proposed project activity is to generate electricity by utilizing the renewable hydropower potential of the Kashang and Kerang streams (the two right bank tributaries of river Sutlej). Project activity is located near the district headquarter town Rekong Peo in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh state of India; which will provide reliable renewable power to the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB), which is a part of NEWNE (Northern, Eastern, Western and North-Eastern) grid of India.
